Why do you learn a foreign language?

This is the kind of question I have been asked a lot and the one question I despise the most. People assume that learning a language other than English is a waste of time and energy because the majority of them think that with English alone you can communicate with practically everyone in the world. This is partly true, but let us not forget the vast number of people in other parts of the world who love and are proud of their language that they prefer to speak in their own native language than in English. For them a native language is an identity, a heirloom passed down from their forefathers whose history goes back centuries. They want to preserve it by using the language in their daily life so that they will also be able to pass it down to many generation to come. So it is not unusual for most of them to be in awe with your effort wanting to try to say few phrases in the language that is close to their heart, the same thing can be said with us when we meet a foreigner and he or she tries to say a few words in Indonesian with an almost correct grammar and good pronunciation. Who wouldn't be surprised and happy to see a foreign national speaking our language? right? because I know I would.

My Piece of Mind

Do we really have to judge people just because they’re different? Do we really have to hate people just because they don’t share the same ethnicity, race, or religion background from us? Of course, you don’t. But there are a bunch of people who are tempted to do just that. We’re all different in many ways.

Ghost Or Imagination?

I’ve been living in this 2 bed room house for nearly 5 months. When I first moved in, there weren’t anything strange in particular about the house and to be honest I felt quite content to be living there. I mean, this house I currently live in is much much better and bigger than the house I lived in before. It’s not scary and by the look of it, the building is fairly recent built, but out of the blue 2 months ago I had this weird and unexplained activities going on. The story goes like this.
It was one beautiful sunny afternoon. The bright ray of sun shined through my window bedroom. The clock on the wall showed that it was 3.15, early in the afternoon.

5 things I’ll do before I die

Travel all over the world and meet new people

Sometimes you are so content to be living in your small part of the world that you’re tempted to judge people or places just from what you read in books or watch on tv, but the fact of the matter is learning how people live in their part of the world from mainstream media is not enough. When you read books or watch documentary there’s things that are edited and left out. So the only way of knowing the truth is by traveling to their part of the world yourself and meet them yourself, you could learn from them things that are not written or shown in books and documentary. There’s nothing more fulfilling and rewarding than finding out things firsthand from local people.
